Saturday, August 1st is the next #twitterforfood event. What we are doing is asking everyone on Twitter to skip a meal and use the savings to fund any local or global hunger relief agency. There is a list of hunger agencies and food banks on the main page of twitterforfood.com, but feel free to fund your favorite.
We'll be glad to add any hunger relief non-profit organization to the list, just request to be added by sending an email to twitterforfood@gmail.com or Direct Message our twitter account @HungerNoMore.
Every month, #twitter for food is growing and more organizations are joining in. We hope to reach 5 million tweeters by the end of the year and have them regularly skipping a meal to fight hunger the first of each month.
Post this message several times on Friday the 31st and Saturday the 1st:
#twitterforfood Skip a meal Aug 1st and use the savings to fund hunger relief locally and globally! http://tr.im/m1Pq Please RT!
The more people we get involved the bigger this can grow! Thank you for helping in this. Those that tweet, I'll add to the list of heroes on the site so you can be counted as hunger relief advocates. If I've missed adding you, please let me know!
With hunger growing in the world and reaching 1 billion people that do not have enough to eat, we need to do all we can to fund the agencies that are making a difference.
Simply,
Tim

Yes, I agree. I've been working on how to make this happen in the simplest fashion without creating another layer of cost for the non-profits. Probably not this month, but next.
Could suggest the $ amounts though and easier links to donate to the current organizations.
Thanks for the suggestion.

We need a dead-simple link to donate money (with suggested dollar amounts) for the meal(s) we skip on August 1st.
