It's hard to believe, but we've been having #twitterfood events for a year! I'm not sure how many other events on #twitter can say that, if any, but I think perseverance has paid off. We've had thousands join the cause and we support hundreds of food banks and organizations across the globe that fight hunger every day.
To celebrate our first anniversary, we're starting a 3 month campaign starting 6/1/2010 called the Summer of Hunger. We'll be supporting and promoting a different area food bank every day during the summer of '10 and will encourage people across the nation to do something to help fight hunger in their home towns.
We'll be setting up a schedule over the next few weeks, so if you're a food bank and if there is a specific summer day you'd like us to plug you in to be spotlighted on twitterforfood.com, let me know with an email twitterforfood@gmail.com, or through twitter @hungernomore.
Thanks to all the hunger heroes who have joined in over the last year - I'd like to highlight you also this summer - if I know what foodbank you support, I'll list you the same day!
